Lavasoft Adaware has the capability to scan your RAM (Random Access Memory), registry, your hard drive, and any external storage devices such as external hard drives for known data-mining, advertising, and tracking devices which means that Ad-aware SE easily can clean your system very effectively, enabling you to maintain a better degree of privacy while you surf the Internet.

Version 1.06 disk-scan is approximately 30% faster than before, and CSI scan is now more efficient. The new "Scan for low-risk threats" option scans for targets with low TAC index. GUI (graphical user interface) has been adapted to use the new TAC.

Ad-aware SE Personal Edition includes several improvements by comparison with previous versions including extended memory scanning which now scans all modules loaded by processes. Scanning now uses CSI (Code Sequence Identification) technology to spot new and unknown variants of known target forms of spyware and adware. Extended registry scanning scans registry branches of multiple-user accounts and performs additional smart checks to find dynamically created references. Scanning speed is considerably quicker, and this version offers an Extended Scanning mode for known and unknown potential browser hijackers.
